Bo Comes Home!

As of today Bo and Gus are getting along just fine. Gus is still a little unsure why this other dog has been eating and sleeping over, and Bo is little unsure why the hell he’s even here. But, we know these two are going to be best of friends. How could they not be given the amount of butt and crotch sniffing the two have been subjecting each other to.

A Little Something From Halloween

First we have our pumpkins that we painted for the Eve of All Saints Day. Just to be clear these are the Super Paper Mario versions because they were easier to paint.

Next up is Jayden the monkey and his new little brother Isaiah the sleeping pea pod. They came over to our house so that they could Trick or Treat in our enclosed condo association. Well, really only Jayden went Trick or Treating. Isaiah was asleep and incapable of walking and seeing colors at this point.

Here we see Gus dressed up as Link from the Legend of Zelda. There was a Halloween puppy-party at the Merrimack Veterinary Hospital and he pooped in front of everyone.

Finally we’ve got Lindsay’s delicious Caramel Apple Cupcakes (that’s right) and the treats that we handed out to the kids. The cupcakes we brought to the Annual Evancic Halloween Bash. And as usual, we had a ton of candy left over after Halloween that I was destined – destined, I say! – to eat.

Isaiah’s First Day

He had a harrowing tale to finally get to us that I won’t get into here (it’s a little gross, but safe!). And after a couple of days his parents settled on the name Isaiah Gabriel.

Here's Isaiah at almost one full day old.

You would think he was just in a marathon he was so tired.

Well, it wasn't really a marathon it was more of a sprint.

Oooh, he almost rolled over!

By the way, where did that blonde hair come from?

And just a quick P.S. here at the end of the post. All these shots were done with my cell phone and with only minor color correction in Photoshop I think they came out awesome!

I’m just testing it out now, and this first video is definitely not HD quality, but it already looks better than YouTube. One day Lindsay sent me a couple of stills that she made in PaintShop. I then threw them into a stop motion animation program I had and outputted that to iMovie. I then just repeated and zoomed the first and last image of the animation to lengthen it up a bit and voila! A 12 second smiley face animation! Music was something that I got from the Envato Birthday bundle that was sold this year. It had some great stuff in there.

Our Mario Bros. Painted Pumpkins for Halloween

The gang's all here! Super Paper Mario Mario, Super Paper Mario Princess, the Invincibility Star and a couple of Goombas.

Another, higher shot, of the Super Mario Pumpkin crew.

Lindsay did a MUCH better job than me making the Princess look AWESOME! That's some clean pumpkin painting.

Here's my shaky-hand attempt at painting the Paper Mario version of Mario on my pumpkin. Even after the three pumpkin ales with cinnamon and sugar on the rim couldn't help my shaky black outlining.

We found another gourd that was shaped like a flippin' star! So, what else would we do? Slap a light coat of yellow paint on it and two black brush strokes for eyes!

The taller of the two weird shaped pumpkin. They were originally going to be 1-Up and Big mushrooms, but the eyes would have been too low down.

Here's a shot of our fat little Goomba shaped pumpkin. We have no idea what type of pumpkin it is, but c'mon! Check out that shape!

Recasting Futurama?! But… Why?

Recasting Futurama?! Looks like it according to Phil LaMarr's Facebook page.

LaMarr, who plays Hermes Conrad as well as PreacherBot, states that a casting notice has been posted for, “all of the main characters voiced by the 5 regular cast members Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille.”

And below is the wording of that casting notice:

We are starting casting immediately for Futurama, a half-hour animated comedy created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. Descriptions of these established characters follow, along with links to clips of previous episodes for reference.

This comes as a gigantic shock as just last month creator David X. Cohen explicitly stated in a Wired.com interview that the voices would not be recasted. So, why the complete 180 degree turn on that decision? It was known that the show was coming back to Comedy Central with fewer writers and a smaller staff, so is this just another means to save money?

John DiMaggio asks on his Facebook page if anyone would watch a new Futurama with a different voice cast, and the answer is an overwhelming, “No.” In the comments some goes as far as saying – including myself – that maybe people don’t purchase any of the products from the advertisers. Maybe…

It seems as if John DiMaggio has confirmed it.

I’m just still in shock about this news. I sure do hope it turns out to be one of those there internet rumors. But, it’s not looking that way…
